skydiving without a plane

Agreed, the idea of jumping out of a plane is ridiculously terrifying. But at iFly in Union City nobody will be pushing you into the wild blue yonder. It all happens safely indoors in a 40 foot high vertical wind tunnel that simulates the skydiving experience - the spinning, the floating, the giddy thrill- at air speeds up to 160 mph.

There’s a brief training and the price is steep, around $50 for 2 minutes of freefall. But when you consider the real thing costs upwards of $200, it’s something of a deal. And less likely to cause a coronary.

It’s a great way to detach your grandchildren away from their computer screens. Kids over three are welcome.
